Ya se había rumorado que pronto veríamos a LG entrar nuevamente al mercado de tablets. El día de ayer LG presentó oficialmente su propuesta para este sector, la G Pad 8.3. Esta tablet pretende competir directamente con las tablets de 7″ y aquellas un poco más grande como el iPad Mini o la Note 8.0. ¿Tendrá lo necesario? Veamos.
Lo primero que debemos mencionar es el tamaño de su pantalla, obviamente 8.3″ como lo sugiere su nombre, una medida algo extraña y diferente a la que estamos acostumbrados. Posiblemente estas .3 adicionales a las 8″ se deba a que no cuenta con botones físicos y LG quiere compensar el uso de los “on screen bottons” para ofrecer realmente 8″ full de visión. Esta pantalla tiene una resolución de 1920 x 1200 y 273ppi (50 menos que la tablet Android favorita Nexus 7 2013). Aún así no dudamos que se vea muy bien.
Las especificaciones de la G Pad no son nada tímidas, incluso superan a todas las tablets en esta categoría. La G Pad 8.3 cuenta con un procesador de cuatro núcleos Snapdragon 600 (el mismo del HTC One) a una velocidad de 1.7 GHz, memoria RAM de 2GB y Android 4.2.2 y una batería de 4600 mAh.
Una de las funciones más llamativas de la G Pad 8.3 es que esta sirve como compañera de tu LG G2. Mediante el uso de la aplicación QPair al recibir una llamada o mensaje de texto este aparecerá en la pantalla de la tablet también, lo mismo va para las notas. Lo mejor de esta función es que no será exclusiva para el G2 ya que puede ser usada con cualquier smartphone equipado con Jelly Bean.
Se espera que la G Pad 8.3 esté disponible en el mercado a partir de octubre en colores blanco y negro. El IFA 2013 está a la vuelta de la esquina y de seguro LG mostrará al mundo de lo que es capaz esta nueva tablet.
